LEARN ABOUT MOUNTAIN CLIMBING STUDENTS
will be able to hear a first-hand account of how Singapore
made it to the top of the world's highest mountain this Saturday.
One of the three people speaking then will be Dr Robert Goh,
who was part of the Singapore team that climbed Mount Everest
in 1998.
The aeronautical engineer, who will be leading an expedition
to Tibet's highest peak, Xixabangma, on March 17, will recount
his Everest experience. The two other speakers are National
University of Singapore students who will talk about a course
they attended in New Zealand last December, where they learnt
about the technical skills needed to climb mountains of different
altitudes and environments.
The two-hour talk at the Singapore History Museum on Stamford
Road will start at 4.30 pm. Admission is free.
