for Tibet
The Straits Times - 18 March 2002
[BACK]

Fond farewells for Mr Goh (foreground)
and Mr Siew (second from left) as they say goodbye before
heading off to make their attempt on Tibets highest peak.
THREE intrepid
mountaineers are on their way to scale Tibet's highest peak,
Mount Xixabangma.
Expedition leader Robert Goh, 36, an aeronautical
engineer, general practitioner Mok Ying Jang, 34, and Outward
Bound Singapore trainer Edwin Siew, 32, are attempting the
8,027m climb without extra oxygen, porters, pre-built tents
or pre-laid ropes.
They will trek from Nepal to Tibet to prepare
themselves.
